5 Ingredient Gluten Free Pizza Crust

In todays post I am excited to share with you some amazing secrets that I've uncovered about the impact of gluten on my children's health. I have also listed a recipe below that has helped us enjoy our new gluten free lifestyle.

We Want What's Best

As a mom, I want what's absolutely best for my children. I am sure you feel the same way. We want to do everything in our power to help them succeed in life. One area i want my children to succeed in is their health.

Some of you have followed our family's slow but steady journey to living without gluten. I have really appreciated all the advice, encouragement and most of all the recipes!!! Our family loves food. We like food that is good for us and satisfies our tummies. But as a momma of 3, I am learning to listen to my babies' bodies. Learning how to read different cues and symptoms they may have. Also, to identify them with an allergy or sensitivity!

For example my middle little Jaden is 3. Since he was born, he has struggled with eczema, rosacea, dry bumps and other skin rashes. Over the past 2 years he has also struggled with irritation and puffiness around his eyes. For a long time, I blamed it on outdoor/seasonal allergies. Mostly because I was unsure as to what was really the culprit. I tried numerous over the counter and homeopathic remedies, but each time I was left discouraged and with no solution.

Finally An Answer

I was reading a blog by a momma talking about her daughter's gluten sensitivity. The mom listed out some symptoms that her daughter was experiencing. Skin rashes and eye irritation were on the list. And get this, one of the effects that absolutely blew my mind was, speech impediment. My son had also struggled with a slight stutter! I had no idea that gluten could affect your speech!! Holy Cow, I had just found the answer I was looking for! That was it. After reading her blog, i began my journey. I was determined to do anything to help my son feel his absolute best!! Starting with a trial run, I removed gluten from his diet for 4 weeks. Within the first 2 weeks, all of Jaden's skin redness and bumps were gone. All his eye irritation and puffiness was gone. AND his speech improved so much he had no stutter! Guys this has been life changing for my family!

This recipe I want to share is in honor of Jaden. His absolute favorite food is PIZZA!!! Every Friday night we have a family pizza picnic! Where we watch a movie, lay down on a blanket (to protect the carpet) and eat pizza in the living room. Which is a special treat for everyone because our family doesn't usually eat in the living room. As I am sure you know, "gluten free" ANYTHING, especially pizza crust, isn't exactly affordable! It is usually twice as much as regular frozen pizza! We have also tried cauliflower crust, but that can also get pricy. This recipe i am going to share below is gluten and yeast free! Its become our favorite!

5 Ingredient Gluten Free Pizza Crust

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 Cup - Gluten Free Flour

(This is what I use, but any GF flour should do just fine) amazon.com/Arrowhead-Mills

  • 2 3/4 Tsp - Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp - Salt
  • 1 Tbsp - any oil (I use Avocado oil)
  • 3/4-1 Cup - Water
  • Feel free to also add any seasoning you may like. Sometimes we add garlic powder

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Kneed dough on flowered surface for 3-4 mins. If dough is too sticky, add small amounts of flour and continue kneading until dough ball forms. On floured surface roll with rolling pin, until you reach desired size and thickness. Bake at 400 degrees for about 7-10 mins. Remove from oven, add yummy toppings. Return to oven for another 10 mins, until cheese is bubbly. Enjoy!!!!

Go grab a new movie, have a family pizza picnic and enjoy this super simple and delicious meal! Thanks for reading about our gluten free journey. Did you try this recipe? What other gluten free dishes do you enjoy? Share them with me in the comments below. I would LOVE to know!!
